Andrea Loew

Andrea Loew began her legal career with stints at both Choate Hall & Stewart (as a member of the real estate department) and Eckert Seamans, where she became a partner (as a member of the business law department). Then, for 14 years, Andrea was General Counsel of Interactive Data Corporation, an international public company in the financial services sector, headquartered in the Boston area. There she headed both the legal and regulatory compliance departments. After her tenure at Interactive Data, Andrea served as Chief Legal Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance.

Andrea’s pro bono work has included: serving as a management consultant for ESC New England; helping to assess qualifications for applicants seeking female owned and operated business certification from the Center for Women and Enterprise; and working with children in the library of the Blackstone Elementary School in support of reading engagement. She also volunteers in support of the Head of the Charles Regatta and the CRI boathouse, where she rows.

Andrea received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

In her spare time, Andrea loves to cook, eat, row, and travel the world.

As an Access to Justice Fellow, in collaboration with co-Fellow Nancy Glowa, Andrea will continue to develop the nascent Tax Lien Foreclosure Legal Referral Program—a joint project of Lawyers Clearinghouse and the Massachusetts Land Court—in ways designed to encourage greater pro bono participation, streamline the intake process, and ameliorate the plight of those whose homes are being unjustly foreclosed under current tax lien laws.
