
Brett Robbins retired as a partner at Ropes & Gray LLP at the end of 2023, though he continues to perform pro bono work with the firm. Prior to retirement, Brett focused his practice on structuring and analyzing business transactions and investment arrangements. He has substantial experience with tax-exempt organizations, leveraged buyout and hedge funds, private equity funds of funds, venture capital funds, private investments in corporations and partnerships, foreign investors and investments, natural resources transactions, real estate transactions and new financial instruments.
Brett has been recognized as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business by Chambers USA and has also been designated as one of the Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers. He currently serves as the Board President of the American Folk Art Society and as Treasurer of the American Folk Art Museum.
Brett holds a BA and MA in mathematics from Wesleyan University and a JD from Harvard Law School.
As an Access to Justice Fellow, Brett will partner with the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF), advising the Impact Investment team on fund structuring issues in connection with the development and launch of the Healthy Enterprise Fund (HEF) and Healthy Neighborhood Equity Fund III (HNEF III) in 2025. He will also serve as CLF’s primary liaison with the Ropes & Gray pro bono team in connection with the structuring and launch of the Healthy Enterprise Fund (HEF).
