Consultation: Written Information Security Programs (WISPs) for MA Nonprofits
Registration: Click here. You may apply for a consultation spot (501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits only) or register to attend only the workshop (open to everyone).
Event fee: If you would like to pay the $25 per organization event fee, you may do so here. This fee supports Lawyers Clearinghouse, however if it’s difficult to pay, you may register and attend without it.
Massachusetts law requires anyone that owns or licenses certain kinds of personal information about a resident of the Commonwealth to develop, implement, and maintain a Written Information Security Program (WISP).
Join us for a workshop on cybersecurity and WISPs, followed by a private consultation with volunteer attorneys for interested nonprofits. Consultation openings are limited; let us know if you’d like to participate.
This is a two-part program:
12:00 PM – 1:15 PM: Workshop on cybersecurity and MA WISPs
1:15 PM – 3:00 PM: Private consultations with volunteer attorneys
During the consultations, volunteer attorneys from Morgan Lewis and Bank of America will review your current WISP and make recommendations, or discuss how to develop a new WISP for your nonprofit. Eligible organizations may request a referral through Lawyers Clearinghouse to follow up on legal issues.
Any Massachusetts nonprofit may register to attend the workshop. Officers, board members, executive directors, and senior managers of Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofits are welcome to register for the workshop and request a private consultation.
Workshop presenters: Ann Westerheim (Ekaru) and Shifrah Halevi (Lawyers Clearinghouse)
Volunteer Attorneys: Morgan Lewis and Bank of America
