Please contact Machiko Sano Hewitt with any questions. \nPresenter: Teresa Santalucia\, Partner\, Klein Hornig LLP \nThis seminar will give a general overview of basic federal tax and election law for 501(c)(3) organizations\, explore ways to organize specific voter engagement activities\, and discuss best practices during an election year including the following questions: \n\nWhat is the difference between advocacy and lobbying?\nWhen and how is it okay for a nonprofit to lobby and what happens if a nonprofit crosses the line?\nAre nonprofit organizations completely prohibited from any involvement in candidate campaigns?\nDoes federal election law apply to 501(c)(3) organizations?\n\nRefreshments will be available. \nThis seminar is a joint project of the Lawyers Clearinghouse and Jericho Road Lawrence.
