This seminar will give a general overview of basic federal tax and election law for 501(c)(3) organizations\, explore ways to organize specific voter engagement activities\, and discuss best practices during an election year including the following questions: \n• What is the difference between advocacy and lobbying?\n• When and how is it okay for a nonprofit to lobby and what happens if a nonprofit crosses the line?\n• Are nonprofit organizations completely prohibited from any involvement in candidate campaigns?
