Note: The workshop is open to everyone\, while consultations are intended for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits. \nEvent fee: If you would like to pay the $25 per organization event fee\, you may do so here. This fee supports Lawyers Clearinghouse\, however if it’s difficult to pay\, you may register and attend without it. \nGood governance and operations are the foundation for a strong and effective organization! Join us for a one-hour workshop\, followed by a private consultation with volunteer attorneys for interested nonprofits. Consultation openings are limited; let us know if you’d like to participate. \nTopics will include: \n\nState and Federal registration and reporting obligations\nCorporate structure\, organizational documents\, policies\nBoard operations\nOperational best practices\nFinances and fiscal management\n\nThis is a two-part program: \n\n1-2 PM: One-hour good governance workshop (open to all Massachusetts nonprofits)\n2-4 PM: Private consultation with volunteer attorneys (501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits only)\n\nDuring the consultation\, volunteer attorneys from Goodwin will review key aspects of the organization’s current governance and operational practices. Eligible organizations may request a referral through Lawyers Clearinghouse to follow up on legal issues. \nAny Massachusetts nonprofit may register to attend the workshop.
