Saheli, Support and Friendship for South Asian Women and Families, serves South Asian communities in all of Massachusetts through its main service center in Burlington (Middlesex County). Its mission is to make the lives of women safe and healthy by offering a range of free services to respond to incidents of abuse and empower women to move forward to healthy and productive lives. Starting in July, 2018, Saheli began offering legal help to South Asian women and their children in its Burlington office. Clients can discuss issues with attorneys in immigration law (filing for immigration visas, appealing deportation orders, vacating orders for deportation, changing visa status procedures, etc.) and family law (restraining orders, vacate orders, divorce, child support, custody, visitation, etc.). Jerry will also offer training to Saheli prevention advocates.
