Greg Sheehan

Greg Sheehan is a retired partner at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, having completed an almost 40-year tenure at the firm in December, 2020.

At Ropes & Gray, Greg practiced in the Investment management area, representing investment companies, their boards, investment advisers, hedge funds and private fund sponsors in business and regulatory matters. He was a member of the firm’s Policy Committee from 2009 to 2019 and was chair of the firm’s Investment Management group from 2001 to 2009. Greg received the Independent Legal Counsel of the Year Award at the 2014 Mutual Funds Awards Dinner in New York in 2014 and was a member of the Advisory Board of BoardIQ from 2008 to 2017. He holds a BA from Harvard College and a JD from the University of California, Berkeley.

As an Access to Justice Fellow, Greg will partner with the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP), which provides pro bono legal assistance to governments and civil society organizations in the Global South and in countries transitioning to democracy and market-based economies.
