Jason Cotton was a partner in the Boston firm of Parker Coulter Daley & White for 23 years before joining Peabody & Arnold LLP as a partner in 1995 where he has been since. After service in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps, in which he served first as a prosecutor and later as a trial judge, he entered private practice in 1972.
His practice has been in the corporate, real estate, taxation and trust and estates fields and has also included FAA regulatory compliance work. He received his B.S. from Babson College in 1962, his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1965, and his L.L.M. in taxation from that law school in 1972.
For his access to justice fellowship projects, Jason will work with both the Justice Bridge Legal Center at the University of Massachusetts School of Law (Dartmouth) and the Lawyers Clearinghouse. At Justice Bridge, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources to new attorneys to help them provide reduced-fee legal services to modest income clients, Jason will mentor new Justice Bridge attorneys. At the Lawyers Clearinghouse, Jason will use his years of legal experience to advise non-profits in need of a pro bono attorney through the Legal Referral Program.
