Martin Levin

For three decades, Martin E. Levin was engaged in complex litigation matters in both the public and private sectors, with a specialization in environmental litigation. This period included a decade as the chief environmental crime prosecutor for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, followed by his work as a partner in the Boston litigation firm Stern, Shapiro, Weissberg & Garin. With the latter office, he had a plaintiffs’ environmental practice, and represented clients in white collar criminal defense matters. In 2015, Martin opened his own office in Framingham, Massachusetts, where he has developed an estate planning practice in addition to the legal counsel he continues to provide in environmental matters. Martin is a graduate of Yale College and the University of Virginia Law School.

As an Access to Justice Fellow, Martin will work with MetroWest Legal Services (MWLS) on its 2020 Census Project. MWLS, with a grant from the Massachusetts Census Equity Fund, will provide outreach and education to social services and members of the community regarding the upcoming 2020 Census. The Project’s goal is to dispel rumors and maximize participation. The Census count has a direct bearing on a community’s representation in Congress, as well as allocation of federal funds for such programs as Medicaid, SNAP, Pell grants, and Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
