Nancy S. Shilepsky is a partner at Sherin and Lodgen LLP in the firm’s Employment Law Department. She represents senior executives and professionals in both transactional and adversarial matters, including but not limited to matters involving contract negotiations, compensation disputes, whistleblowing, internal investigations, and arbitrations.
In addition, Nancy is known for her work in wrongful termination, discrimination and whistleblowing, including a high-profile sexual harassment case blocking a First Amendment challenge to workplace speech restrictions, a precedent-setting case dealing with the eradication of race-based discrimination in compensation, and a healthcare retaliation case resulting in both substantial damages and the institution of comprehensive safety measures. Her case work has also contributed to the breaking of glass ceilings, especially for women with children.
Outside of private practice, Nancy co-founded and served as co-coordinator of the Amicus Group, a consortium of community groups and civil rights organizations working to ensure racial and social justice and the eradication of discrimination in the Commonwealth. She also was a founding co-chair of the Women’s Bar Association’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, which brings together senior and up and coming women attorneys for mentoring and leadership development. Currently, she is a First Circuit mentor for the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers’ Pilot Mentoring Program and co-chair of her firm’s Women’s Initiative.
As an Access to Justice Fellow, Nancy will volunteer with GLAD Answers, the “know your legal rights” program of GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD), and she will support GLAD as otherwise requested. Since 1978, GLAD has worked to “create a just society free of discrimination based on gender identity and expression, HIV status, and sexual orientation.”
