Patricia B. Gary, Esq. began her career by serving as a law clerk to Chief Justice David A. Brock of the New Hampshire Supreme Court (1989-1990). She practiced in the appellate department of Burns and Levinson, where she focused on appeals, before leaving the law for several years, and then returning to practice in the insurance coverage department of a small firm. She later joined Donovan Hatem, LLP where she practiced in the litigation department for 14 years and was a partner until 2019. Her practice focuses primarily on appeals, insurance coverage, and representing architects, engineers and other professionals, as well as owners and contractors in commercial and construction matters. She is a graduate of Middlebury College and Suffolk University Law School.
Trish frequently lectures on risk management issues related to climate change, and is the co-editor and author of several construction law books. She is presently working on a new book, Climate Change and the Built Environment, that will be published in January 2021. She is the co-editor and a chapter author of three editions of Public-Private Partnerships and Design-Build: Opportunities and Risks for Consulting Engineers, most recently published in March 2020.
As an Access to Justice Fellow, Trish will assist the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) with climate change projects related to design professionals and other participants in the construction industry. She will provide research assistance to CLF regarding ways to solve the climate crisis and shape the built environment for a just, sustainable and resilient future.
