Peter Rosenberg

Peter Rosenberg joined Ropes & Gray from Boston University School of Law in 1984 and became a Partner in 1994. He practices in the area of ERISA and Employee Benefits. As of this year he is serving in a Senior Counsel role at the firm, still practicing but also devoting time to pro bono and administrative efforts and teaching an ERISA course at Harvard Law School.

During his career Peter was a member of the Board of Directors of HomeStart, Inc. an organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Boston and surrounding communities. He served as Board Chair for several years as well. After stepping down from the Board Peter and his colleagues at Ropes & Gray continued to support HomeStart on a pro bono basis.

During his fellowship year Peter will continue to work with HomeStart on a more substantial basis than he was able to do previously. HomeStart has developed innovative approaches to reducing instances of eviction and hopes to scale those approaches within Boston and the broader community. In the wake of the COVID pandemic especially and the expiration of eviction moratoria, there will be a significantly increased need for legal services in support of those facing homelessness.
