Roger Bertling

Roger Bertling retired in July 2025 after 32 years as a Clinical Instructor (and later Senior Clinical Instructor) at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School in Jamaica Plain, the last 15 years of which he was the Director of the Consumer Law Clinic as well as a Lecturer on Law at HLS. Before taking the helm of the Consumer Clinic, Roger focused his practice at HLS on landlord/tenant cases. Prior to his time at Harvard, Roger was a civil legal aid attorney in St. Louis, MO and Brockton, MA. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Law. As an Access to Justice Fellow, Roger will work with Greater Boston Legal Services Consumers Right Unit, focusing on consumer bankruptcy cases.
