Steve received a B.B.A. in Industrial Psychology from the Bernard M. Baruch School of Business and Public Administration, an M.A. in Counseling from the NYU School of Education, and a J.D. from Boston College School of Law. Since 1988, Steve has practiced domestic relations, including divorce, paternity, guardianship, child custody, modification, and contempt matters. Steve’s practice also includes probate work and residential real estate conveyancing.
Steve is an active volunteer attorney with the Volunteer Lawyers Project, working with the Settlement and Early Resolution Volunteer (SERV) Project and accepting pro bono appointments. Steve also volunteers at the Lawyer for the Day program at the Norfolk Probate and Family Court and is a volunteer mediator with the Community Dispute Settlement Center. He is a member of the MBA and the BBA, and previously served on the boards of D.E.A.F. Inc., a social service agency providing social and educational services to deaf/hard of hearing people, and On Our Way, a residential home for adults who are deaf/hard of hearing.
Steve created an access to justice project with the Volunteer Lawyers Project after noticing through his years of practice that access to justice for who are deaf or hard of hearing is constrained by communication challenges. With VLP, Steve will explore the possibilities for addressing this problem and will strategize on how to create a fund for legal services for the deaf/hard of hearing.
