Suzanne Sheldon

Suzanne Sheldon is a lawyer and former U.S. diplomat. Prior to law school, Suzanne worked as Director of the Victim-Witness Assistance Unit in the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. She then practiced as a civil trial lawyer in Boston from 1986-1999. She joined the U.S. Department of State in 1999 as a Foreign Service Officer, serving in U.S. embassies in Colombia, Pakistan, and Iraq and in the Department in Washington, DC. She retired in early 2025. Born and raised in Vermont, she is a graduate of Boston College Law School. As an Access to Justice Fellow, Suzanne will partner with the Immigration Unit of DeNovo Center for Justice and Healing, which represents individuals seeking asylum or who are eligible for other forms of humanitarian immigration relief.
