Lawyers Clearinghouse seeks an intern for our Legal Clinic Program (LCP) for the 2026-2027 academic year. The LCP connects people in need of free legal assistance with volunteer lawyers who can assist them with civil legal matters on a pro bono basis. Legal Clinics are hosted both virtually and in-person at shelters and service agencies around Boston.
Responsibilities
- Must attend in-person and virtual legal clinics every other Friday (in-person clinics run from 8:30 AM-1 PM; virtual clinics run from 8:45 AM-12 PM over Zoom)
- Potential to assist with in-person eviction records sealing clinics
- Assist with client screenings, gathering documents, and obtaining releases
- Review dockets and perform internet searches for referral suitability
- Call clients for satisfaction surveys after clinics, and after a case closes
- Post-clinic data entry and other administrative tasks as needed
We’re seeking an undergraduate intern for Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 but can be flexible with start and end dates. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to explore public interest legal services and cares about access to justice for marginalized individuals and communities. Experience working with homeless and low-income populations is a plus, as is customer service experience. The internship is paid via stipend with an expected time commitment of 5-8 hours a week and is mostly remote.
Interested students: Please upload a resume and a cover letter expressing your interest to Culture and Systems Manager Lex Brown at this link by Sunday, June 14. Applications that do not include a cover letter will not be considered. If you have any questions, please contact Lex.
