Black Lives Matter: A Statement from Lawyers Clearinghouse

At Lawyers Clearinghouse, we believe Black lives matter.

Lawyers Clearinghouse was founded in 1988 to provide additional avenues to justice for the most vulnerable in our community, and “access to justice for all” is one of the core values that drives our work. Through our pro bono programs for nonprofits and people in need, we strive to ensure that justice is available to everyone, whether they can afford it or not.

But justice cannot coexist with racism and state-sanctioned violence, and people have the right to assemble, to protest, and to hold those in power–and the institutions they represent–accountable for upholding a racist and violent system that disregards and endangers Black lives.

We continue to stand with those who demand justice and who honor the memories of the countless victims of police brutality and white supremacy throughout history, and we reaffirm our commitment to their cause.
